Camp Hero monitors Recreation.gov every 1-15 minutes (depending on your plan) and sends you an instant text and email the moment a campsite opens up due to a cancellation.
We monitor 6,900+ campgrounds across all 50 U.S. states on Recreation.gov, including national parks, national forests, BLM lands, and Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds.
Good plan checks every 10-15 minutes. Better checks every 5-9 minutes. Awesome, Mega and Ultra plans check every 1-4 minutes - fast enough to beat the competition.
No - Camp Hero only monitors and alerts. When we find availability, we send you a direct link to book immediately on Recreation.gov.
Yes. All plans are month-to-month and can be cancelled anytime from your dashboard settings, at least one day before your next renewal.
Depending on your plan: Good (3 scans), Better (5), Awesome (7), Mega (15), Ultra (30). Each scan monitors one campground for your chosen dates.
Yes - both. Make sure to add your phone number in Settings to receive SMS alerts. Email alerts are always on.
Scans run until they find availability or you stop them. We recommend starting scans as early as possible - cancellations happen year-round.
